POS_PE_2023 - Propulsion Engineer
Location: Technology for Propulsion and Innovation S.p.A. (T4i) Padova – Italy
Duration: 12+ months
The propulsion engineer will work within a multidisciplinary team to design and support testing of propulsion units, especially in the chemical rocket field.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with other aerospace engineers to design, build and support test propulsion systems
- Researching previous designs to get inspiration for new designs
- Design and implement the processes to bring conceptual designs to full production
- Design and write testing procedures at both module and vehicle level
- Work with test engineers to debug, test and implement changes to hardware
- Write, review, and support the execution of propulsion unit test
- Assisting safety personnel with analyzing errors or checking malfunctioned components to determine the cause
- Develop and refine manufacturing and assembly procedures based on lessons learned to improve the system
- Working on a quality-based environment

Background

POS_TE_2023 - Test Engineer
Location: Technology for Propulsion and Innovation S.p.A. (T4i) Padova – Italy
Duration: 12+ months
The test engineer will work within a multidisciplinary team to design test tools and processes, executing assembly and test procedures for propulsion units, troubleshooting issues and implementing fixes.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement the processes to bring conceptual designs to full production
- Design and write testing procedures at both module and vehicle level
- Work with test engineers to debug, test and implement changes to hardware
- Write, review, and support the execution of propulsion unit test
- Assisting safety personnel with analyzing errors or checking malfunctioned components to determine the cause
- Develop and refine manufacturing and assembly procedures based on lessons learned to improve the system
- Perform testing on propulsion systems (chemicals, cold gas, electric)
- Run environmental testing with thermal chambers, vibration tables and thermal vacuum chambers
- Working on a quality-based environment

This figure will be in charge of performing preliminary and detailed design of mechanical components, with specific reference to pressurized systems, based on steel, special alloys and composite materials.
Responsibilities
As a Mechanical/Structural Engineer you will be in charge of:
- Performing preliminary and detailed design of mechanical components, pressurized systems and combustion chamber
- Performing Finite Element Analysis both static and dynamic
- Performing hands calculations for preliminary analysis
- Identify best trade off of materials and manufacturing process
- Following up the procurement and manufacturing of components

The composite material engineer will be in charge of identifying and design the best solution for composite structures.
Responsibilities
As a Mechanical/Structural Engineer with focus on Composite materials you will be in charge of:
- Performing preliminary and detailed design of mechanical components, pressure reservoir and combustion chambers
- Performing Finite Element Analysis both static and dynamic
- Identify best trade off of materials and manufacturing process

POS_FD_2023 - Fluidic Engineer

Duration: 12+ months
The Fluidic Engineer will be in charge of following the whole process from preliminary design to final qualification of fluidic components as valve, regulator, filters. Particularly she/he will work on micro fluidic and standard fluidic of motors ranging from mN to kNs thrust for space application.
Responsibilities
As a Fluidic Engineer you will be in charge of:
- Performing preliminary and detailed design of the fluidic subsystems of thruster and rocket motors, including valves, filters, pressure regulators etc.
- Performing numerical analysis of physical behavior of fluidic circuit
- Performing mechanical and thermal analysis
- Identifying best off-the shelf components
- Following up with manufacturer and subsidiaries
- Designing and leading test and qualification campaign

POS_EE_2023 - Electronics Engineer

This figure will be in charge to support both design and testing activities from an electrical and electronics point of view.
Responsibilities
As a electronics designed you will be in charge of:
- Performing preliminary and detailed design of electronic circuits
- Performing design of PCB boards
- Support the other engineers with electrical and electronics calculation
- Support the other engineers with the definition and setup of measure and control systems
- Perform testing on circuits and electronic systems

Background

POS_SALES_2023 - Institutional Sales Manager
Position Code: POS_SALES_2023
Location: Technology for Propulsion and Innovation S.p.A. (T4i) Padova – Italy
Responsibilities
Below a detailed, but not thorough, list of responsibilities of the Institutional Sales Manager:
- Identify and internally propose institutional sales opportunities from Space Agencies and governments.
- Study the overall space market with focus on company possible partners, customers, and competitors to create consortium for specific calls.
- Assemble and manage a bid team (within the company management, business development, communication and the technical team) that has the skills to prepare and submit a winning proposal, whilst taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process.
- Write the proposal document coordinating and receiving inputs from business, communication, and technical team.
- Ensure all deadlines are met.
- Keep track of all costs and manage budgets.
- After the proposal submission, the institutional sales manager remains involved through the presentation and negotiation stages, ensuring all lessons learned are fed back and implemented.
- Periodically report updates to the marketing and sales manager.
- Visit partners, Space Agencies, EC and other entities, organize and host presentations.
- Identify, participate to, and organize B2B meetings at aerospace events worldwide. Organize the post event follow-up activities.
Requirements
Please find below the list of requirements that need to be met:
- Master’s degree in engineering (or another technical relevant discipline) or business.
- +2 years of experience within the space sector, preferably as a bid writer/institutional sales manager within the space sector.
- Previous work experience within European institutional stakeholders (ESA, EC, etc.) is mandatory.
- Excellent space industry knowledge (both New Space and traditional space) and a willingness to keep up with trends.
- Proficient English is mandatory. Any additional language is advantageous.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills.
- This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines. It requires strong people management and commercial skills.
