OPEN POSITIONS

Electronic Engineer
Location: Technology for propulsion and innovation s.r.l. (T4i) Padova – Italy
Duration: 12 months
Overall purpose of the job: this position is offered to support the space propulsion systems team, in particular on electrical thruster modules development. We need an experienced person in analogic and power electronics, preferably in space environment.
The support will be focused on (but not limited to):
- realization and testing arrangement of Power Processing Units for propulsion systems on satellite;
- PCB adaption and optimization;
- realization of auxiliary subsystems and sequential logic for control and watchdog. A basic knowledge of FPGA or microcontroller electronic is preferable;
- diagnostic and conditioning of laboratory signals.
Key activities:
1. design of JIGS for electronic test;
2. support in design, realization and testing (including PCB ECSS space optimization) of Power Processing Units (PPU);
3. design, realize and test of auxiliary electronics for propulsion subsystems.
Specific requirements: experience in radiofrequency, in particular on power electronics:
- expertise on FPGA and/or microcontroller programming and implementation
- electrical/electronical measurement systems.
Previous experience in Aerospace industry is desirable.
Education: University Master degree in electronic engineering, possibly with focus on embedded software development and/or power electronics.
Language: full professional proficiency of English language is mandatory.

Flight Software Engineer
Location: Technology for propulsion and innovation s.r.l. (T4i) Padova – Italy
Duration: 12 months
Overall purpose of the job: this position is offered to support the space propulsion systems team, in particular on electrical thruster modules development. We need an experienced person in control and communication algorithm to perform the electrical, electronic, and signal interfaces between the propulsion subsystem and the spacecraft, using standard protocols (e.g. CAN BUS).
The support will be focused on (but not limited to):
- realization and testing of communication protocol with the bus or the rest of standard satellite;
- conditioning of signal and data compression;
- realization of auxiliary subsystems and sequential logic for control and watchdog. A basic knowledge of FPGA or microcontroller electronic is preferable;
- Control of auxiliary subsystem and sequential logic for system monitoring.
Key activities:
1. management of communication protocol between the propulsion system and the satellite (CSP protocol);
2. implementing of basic control logic in standard FPGA or microcontroller;
3. design, realize and test of auxiliary communication boards and firmware programming;
4. support in control boards;
5. support in data handling.
Specific requirements:
- experience in standard CAN / I2C communication;
- firmware programming;
- preferably expertise on FPGA and/or microcontroller programming and implementation;
- expertise in CSP also in freeRTOS is preferable.
A basic knowledge of FPGA or microcontroller electronic is desirable.
Education: University Master degree in computer science, Telecommunication, electronic or software engineering, possibly with focus on embedded software development.
Language: full professional proficiency of English language is mandatory.

Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer – Thermo/Fluidic Design
Location: Technology for propulsion and innovation s.r.l. (T4i) Padova – Italy
Duration: 12 months
Overall purpose of the job: this position is offered to support the space propulsion systems team, in particular on electrical thruster modules development. We need a person skilled in the design and implementation of fluid systems for the implementation of power systems on a CubeSat.
The support will be focused on (but not limited to):
- design and testing of the fluidic system;
- design and control test with high precision fluidics;
- determination of the suitable fluidic line technology depending on the mission requirements.
Key activities:
1. design of fluidic systems and related thermal management;
2. implementation of flow controls;
3. design of high precision diagnostic systems.
Preferable experience:
- vacuum systems and low-flow rate control;
- high precision fluid dynamics diagnostics and controls;
- knowledge of Solidworks environment.
Education: engineering Master degree, preferably in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.

Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer – Structural/Thermal Design
Location: Technology for propulsion and innovation s.r.l. (T4i) Padova – Italy
Duration: 12 months
Overall purpose of the job: this position is offered to support the space propulsion systems team, in particular on electrical thruster modules development. We need a person skilled in the design and implementation of flight systems for satellites, in particular in relation to the structural part subjected to loads at launch and thermal stress during flight operations.
The support will be focused on (but not limited to):
- design and testing of the structural segment and its integration with the bus and / or Cubesat housing;
- vibration and thermo-vacuum design and testing definition and management;
- support for thermal design based on the heat released by the motor, the thermal control characteristics of the bus and the orbit.
Key activities:
1. management of the satellite's thermal / structural systems;
2. design of the system assembly and disassembly procedures;
3. support for the thermal / environmental part during all phases of the engine life;
4. determination of the quality and reliability of the system under the ISO9100 space quality regime.
Preferable experience:
- experience of Cubesat systems and space normative (ECSS);
- thermo-structural design of components, also aimed at production through 3D printing;
- knowledge of the Solidworks environment.
Education: engineering Master degree, preferably in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
Language: full professional proficiency of English language is mandatory.
